Todd Takes

1. Data governance may sound like a small detail, boring and not super sexy. However, it actually makes a big impact. As with so many other things, you need to plan your work and strategy before you implement. Do not shortchange this step.

2. Part of your data strategy planning needs to include a robust understanding of who your data is actually for and why you are collecting it. When you are clear on these answers, it is much easier to communicate the why behind the what and gain greater buy-in.

3. In order to successfully navigate change management, you need to know the person you are working with. Kelli detailed the value of creating an incremental approach to tech adoption and a full feedback loop. Also, as she mentioned, you need to give people time to use the process before making determinations on the effectiveness.
